Regatta Weekend 2008: Back home among the tourists

Regatta is a big tradition - not only for Whitby, but for me as well. Thousands of tourists flock to the town and it's a great chance to catch up with old friends.

Several of us headed back in early August for the 2008 Regatta. Many of the regular attractions including the Red Arrows and other airborne displays were absent. But there was still plenty to do.

After drinks on Friday we enjoyed three days of warm sunshine along with plenty of ice cream and fish and chips.
