My journalism career so far

Journalist Since August 2008 I have worked for Channel M in Manchester where I currently work as a reporter producing news items and features for the daily current affairs and magazine show Channel M Today which is broadcast on weekdays between 4pm and 7pm. This follows my time presenting the station's former lunchtime and breakfast news bulletins.

Previously I studied for a Bachelor of Broadcasting degree at the University of Leeds. My professional career began at Minster FM in North Yorkshire in 2002. After six months there I spent five and a half years working for Real Radio Yorkshire which is based in Leeds but broadcasts to the whole of West and South Yorkshire.

The highlight of my career so far is being named in the final four for the IRN Reporter of the Year award in 2007. During my time at Real Radio my work also featured on the team's winning entries at the NTL/Arqiva awards, along with nominations at the Sony awards and New York Festival awards.
